A Spiritual Revitalization Journey Fueled by Stubborn willpower to go my chosen path.
Hey everyone,
Today’s post takes a personal turn, sparked by a daily prompt: “How important is spirituality in your life?”
Truth be told, it wasn’t always a top priority. Fresh out of a web development bootcamp, I was buzzing with excitement. Job offers materialised after my brave move across the country – a chance to finally launch my tech career! Fuelled by youthful enthusiasm, I took the leap without a solid backup plan. Reality soon hit – limited resources and a sense of powerlessness threatened to extinguish my ambitions.
As I grew up, my upbringing instilled in me a strong connection to a higher power (whatever that means to you!). During this challenging time, that connection resurfaced. It wasn’t a magic solution, but a spark that reignited my spirit. I realised this setback wasn’t a screw-up in life, but a detour on my tech roadmap.
Here’s the thing: while there were regrets about the lack of a backup plan, the experience instilled a valuable lesson – the ability to adapt. Now, the fire to make a comeback in the tech industry burns brighter than ever. April 2024 marked a turning point. That’s when I dug in, using this blog as my tech portfolio to showcase my skills and document my growth.
Spirituality can manifest in many ways. It’s not about following a specific religion, but finding that inner compass that guides you through challenges. For me, it was about reigniting the belief in myself, the conviction that with dedication, I could achieve my goals.
How Faith Helped Me Persevere:
- Gratitude Practice: Every morning, I started listing three things I was grateful for, no matter how small. This shifted my focus from what I lacked to the resources I still possessed, fostering a positive outlook and motivation to keep hustling.
- Finding Balance: Instead of pushing myself to the limit, I learned the importance of pacing myself. Taking breaks, prioritizing sleep, and avoiding information overload helped me stay focused and energised for the long haul.
Maintaining Spirituality During Tough Times:
- Meditation: Taking 10-minute meditation breaks helped me quiet the mental chatter and connect with a sense of inner peace. This clarity allowed me to approach problems with a calmer, more focused mind.
- Community: Staying connected with supportive friends and family who believed in me offered a crucial source of encouragement during difficult moments.
Unexpected Inspiration:
Funny enough, even in the vast digital landscape, I found inspiration. Scouring LinkedIn and YouTube, I discovered a treasure trove of productivity videos – doctors, professionals, and people just like me sharing their software career journeys. Their stories and practical tips reignited my passion for tech and fuelled my determination to carve my path.
