Without a struggle there is no “true” success.
It’s August. A cruel month for someone who graduated from a prestigious software development bootcamp with dreams of coding empires. Yet, here I am, four months deep into a non-tech job, feeling like a mismatched puzzle piece.
People have labelled me an overthinker. A soft accusation that hits harder than any critique of my code. My mind, a relentless hamster wheel, spins out of control, paralysed by countless what-ifs. The culprit? A toxic mix of long night shifts, malnutrition, and physical exhaustion. My body aches, my brain fogs, and my short-term memory is as reliable as a wet tissue.
I crave mental clarity to focus on my career goals, but I have depleted my energy reserves. Every off day feels like a battleground between ambition and inertia. “Is this why I wanted to be here?” echoes in my mind, a haunting question that pierces through the fog. The answer is always a resounding no.
I’ve been trying to stay afloat by building good habits. Improving my typing speed, absorbing knowledge during my commute, and consistently writing blog posts on my website have been lifelines. But I’ve hit a wall. These insignificant victories aren’t enough. I need to break out of my comfort zone, expand my reach, and create a ripple effect. This is my turning point.
It’s time for a digital detox and a mental overhaul. My room, a reflection of my chaotic mind, needs a serious declutter. I’m crafting a manifesto of determination, a promise to myself to resurface from this slump and reclaim my tech dreams. This is my wake-up call. It’s time to crunch, to learn, to elevate. The journey back might be arduous, but the destination is worth every uphill climb.
